    Connect QuickBooks Online

Authorize the intended QuickBooks Online company and check its connection and import status in Median.

    Before you connect

QuickBooks Online is connected as the company’s accounting ledger. Bank and card feeds are a separate connection. Use an Intuit account that can authorize the correct QuickBooks company; Median does not need your QuickBooks password.

    Authorize the right company

    1. In Your setup, open Your existing books. If the setup task is not assigned to you, ask the company owner or admin to complete it.
    2. Choose Authorize QuickBooks.
    3. Sign in to Intuit, select the QuickBooks Online company prepared for your Median workspace, and review the permissions requested by the authorization screen.
    4. Return to Median and check that the company status says Connected (company verified).

    Check the import separately

A verified connection confirms which QuickBooks company was authorized. It does not confirm that the first import has run or that books have been posted. In Settings under Integrations, the QuickBooks status card can show that the first import has not run, that an import is in progress, or the latest successful read and books status.

Fix a company mismatch or failed authorization

    • If Median says the wrong QuickBooks company was selected, ask an admin of the intended company to authorize Median again from Your existing books.
    • If the authorization window was closed or authorization was declined, start a fresh authorization from the setup task.
    • If the status cannot refresh, reload Median. If it still cannot confirm the connection, send the displayed status to your accountant in Inbox.
    • If Median needs accountant access, invite jacob@medianfi.com as an accountant in QuickBooks Online. Never share your Intuit login.
