    Median public MCP tools

Connect to Median’s public tools for bookkeeping checks and company compliance research.

    By Jacob Sheldon. Reviewed

    Public tools endpoint

The public utility MCP endpoint is https://medianfi.com/mcp. It is separate from the customer data endpoint at https://api.medianfi.com/api/v1/mcp. It does not connect to a Median company or read customer books.

Public tools include company and pricing information, services and blog lookup, books health checks, and compliance obligation lookup. No Median account or API key is needed for these public tools.

Add the server to an MCP client

    1. In a client that supports remote HTTP MCP servers, choose the option to add a server or connector.
    2. Enter https://medianfi.com/mcp and save the connection.
    3. Ask the assistant to list the available tools, then choose a public utility such as a books health check or compliance lookup.

    What to send

    • The tools work with public information or structured facts. They do not read your Median account.
    • Median records the structured inputs sent to these tools and an optional company name. Include a company name only with the user’s consent. Omit identifying information when it is unnecessary.
    • Do not send documents, tax IDs, addresses, people’s names, credentials, or financial amounts to the public utility server.
    • A books health check is a diagnostic, not an audit opinion. Compliance results do not establish that a company is compliant.
