    Connect Claude to Median

Preview instructions for adding the Median custom connector to Claude with authorized company access.

    By Jacob Sheldon. Reviewed

    Before you start

These are preview instructions. Median must confirm that this connector flow is supported for your account before you use it. A complete live Claude report read and revocation test are pending release acceptance.

Customer MCP access must be enabled for your Median company. Your Median sign-in also needs access to that company. If access is not enabled, ask your Median account contact.

Add the custom connector in Claude

    1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
    2. Paste the Median server URL below and continue.
    3. Choose Connect. Sign in to Median, confirm the company, and authorize read-only access.
    4. Start a new Claude chat after the connector is added. If Median is not listed, ask your account contact to check that MCP access is enabled.

Check the company and make a first report request

Ask Claude to identify the connected company before requesting financial information. The report request uses ISO dates and the `from` and `to` argument names.

First call whoami. Tell me the companyName and companyId it returns. Stop if companyName does not exactly match [enter expected company name].

If it matches, call get_pl_report with from 2026-01-01 and to 2026-03-31. Confirm the dates in the result before summarizing it.

    Understand the access

    • The customer MCP connection reads data available to the authorized Median company. It does not connect directly to QuickBooks or another accounting provider.
    • Report tools return unavailable when company setup is incomplete or the company is not enabled for financial data. A report response does not establish that the books are complete or reviewed.
    • The public utility MCP at medianfi.com/mcp is a different service. It does not read your Median company data.
